Conservation prints are created from high-quality digital files adjusted and color-profiled for the specific photographic prints we employ. Each final print is approved by the artist or his technicians. Once an image is digitally archived, reproductions are created with a critical eye to duplicating the color and feel of the original piece of art.
The quality of conservation prints is equal to traditional color gelatin printing and is often found in art and photographic galleries. With proper care taken to display the work away from direct sunlight and exposure to high humidity or air pollutants such as cigarette smoke, conservation prints will last decades with no appreciable change or degradation of the image.
Glossy surface: Shiny, very reflective. Enhances contrast and sharpness of the original.May show fingerprints if touched.
Lustre surface: Semi-gloss, not as reflective, but still adds an increase in contrast and sharpness, though less than glossy. Fingerprints do not show.
Matte surface: Non-reflective, yet still a rich, accurate reproduction of the original piece.
For those clients who purchase matted prints, we use museum-quality 100% rag cotton mats or acid-free foam-core (on bigger prints) and neutral-Ph dry mount tissue to insure your print lasts.
